I made this flow chart (below) after some deep-dive reflections and journaling about how to create more transparency in my business. My ethos is all about helping clients to feel as empowered as possible, and so this needed to be reflected in the way I design my processes. ✨
It's pretty standard that most businesses have a sales and marketing 'funnel' of some kind. Sometimes, I hear people talk about this as if their potential clients and customers are inanimate objects on a conveyor belt, which feels grim. Imagining people as objects to be manipulated along a production line just feels so disrespectful.
I know this sounds overdramatic, but the 'ick' around it was getting in the way of me creating a clear funnel or process for Strength in Feathers. This made it confusing for people to know what I did and how they could work with me.
So, I reframed it: how can I make my funnel the most helpful, guiding and consensual customer journey?
It feels so much better when you know you're giving people 𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙞𝙘𝙚. They're steering themselves through your easily-navigable pathway.
(I also reflected on this from my own perspective as a customer. Sometimes I can feel when I'm in the funnel, and it's actually really helpful. I can step in, step back, or stay still whenever I choose.)
So, here I present this work-in-progress flow chart of my services and support. It's not quite a funnel, but it's about helping my potential clients choose how they'd like to work with me:
What do you think? And do you have anything like this in our own business? How easy is it for people to navigate your offerings and be 'up-sold' in a way that feels empowering and good for them?
This is all part of my ethical marketing ethos. If you'd like to hear more and find out how to integrate this into your business, have a read of my other blog posts or send me a message at hello@strengthinfeathers.com
